LADIES TAKE YOUR PLACE AT THE FASHION STARTING GATE
Wear your wildest imagination and colours
This is your chance to show off your best spring or summer fashion, so dress to impress and get creative. For instance, think floral prints, cheerful colours, pastels, bold stripes, feathers, or anything that brings you joy and makes you feel fabulous.
Don’t fuss about being overdressed! By all means, wear something that will make you stand out, like a pair of bright pumps, or a statement bag.
If you are wearing a colourful dress (prints and florals encouraged), keep your shoes neutral.
On the other hand, if the dress is neutral or single-tone, wear colourful shoes.
Pair with the only accessory that matters: an outstanding hat.
Look for a hat or fascinator that fits your style and matches the outfit. As a matter of fact, this is the one accessory you want to have fun with. It can be as classic, adventurous, or even as ridiculous as you want it.
Do I have to wear a dress?
While there are no specific rules for having to wear a dress to daytime race meets, it is the most popular fashion choice for women. For night race events, however, you’ll find many more of the attendees in a tailored pantsuit or a skirt and top combo.
RACING HOT FASHION FOR MEN
Gentlemen will fit in wearing light suits, pastel shirts, ties/bowties, and cardigans.
In fact, a tie can be any colour that matches well with the shirt and jacket.
Wear a jacket.
It’s preferable to wear a lightweight suit or a sports jacket. Although it’s not a requirement, it does, however, add an element of sophistication and style. As you know, one can never be overdressed at a horse race!
Hats off to you, you fashionista!
Although top hats and tails are not mandatory for men at other race meets, you will still see plenty on show.
Accessorise for fun!
As an alternative: Dress up like your favourite jockey!
